Climate Resilience Trailblazers
Maxine Bedat
Maxine Bédat is on a mission to make the fashion industry more honest and sustainable. She founded the New Standard Institute, a non-profit that uses data to hold big brands accountable. Maxine started out trying to create ethical clothes, but realized the real problem was how little companies knew — or shared — about where their stuff came from. Now she’s advocating for laws that hold fashion giants accountable and ensure transparency about their impact.
Sarah Stoeckl
Sarah Stoeckl helps make the University of Oregon more sustainable by getting students and faculty involved in climate-focused initiatives. She teaches about how our emotions around climate change — like fear or hope — can actually help us find solutions and adapt to what's coming.
Finn Howell
Finn Howell is one of the co-heads of the West Linn High School Green Club, where he’s leading efforts to make his school more sustainable. From organizing climate-focused efforts to inspiring student engagement, Finn is showing how strong leadership can create real change right on campus.
Thread Forward
Thread Forward is a student-led initiative started by Auveen, Elise, and Alexa, three high schoolers from Lake Oswego, Oregon, working to fight fast fashion and promote sustainable style. By teaming up with friends, they’ve shown that real change — and support — can start with a shared passion and a simple idea. Together, they’re proving that youth-led engagement can make a real impact.
Kaelyn Jones
Kaelyn Jones used to feel overwhelmed by anxiety about climate change — but instead of staying stuck in fear, she decided to get involved. By joining her local Green Team, Kaelyn found purpose, community, and the power to make a difference. Her story shows that even the hardest emotions can lead to real, hopeful change.
